From accepting your offer and enrolling to understanding placement requirements, here’s everything you need to know to kick off your UC journey.

Accepting your offer is your first step to joining the UC community. Your offer letter will outline the steps you need to take to accept your offer and secure your place in your course.

Set up your student account
First thing's first - it's time to set up your student account!
Your username is your student ID with a 'u' in front. Your password should have been issued to you when you accepted your offer, however if you have lost or forgotten it, you can change or .
Your username and password will give you access to your student systems: myUC and UCLearn, as well as your student email account.
The best place to start with enrolment is to take a look at our online Digital Handbook for your course. It will show you the typical study plan, which is a great place to begin when deciding what units to enrol into.
Once open, you can enrol into units through myUC. We've developed a short enrolment guide to help, and there is also a self-enrolment video in myUC to navigate you through the process.
Now that you’re enrolled and can access your student account, it’s time to explore and complete your admin checklist so you’re set up and ready to go for the start of semester.
If you need any guidance, you can reach out to the Student Centre who will be happy to help.
Once you've enroled in units, you can build your timetable through Viewer. This is where you manage the days and times you'll study your units.
It's important to understand any placement or internship requirements for your course, or any necessary clearances, before you start.
°Õ³ó±ð  that will be your education identifier for life; you'll only need to create it once. It is issued by the Australian Government to students enrolled in higher education in Australia.
You may already have a USI, but if you don't, it's free and easy to . You'll need a valid form of identification on hand – like your passport or birth certificate.
You will need to provide your USI to us by Census date
There are two types of fees you need to think about at this stage; your tuition fees and the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF).
Your tuition fees are charged by the individual units you enrol into by Census date. Any units you are enrolled into by this date, you will be charged for.
Every student’s fees are different. View your fees in myUC and reach out to the Student Centre if you have any questions about how your fees work, when they are due or what you might be eligible for.
If you're new to UC and never had an ID card before, you can skip the queue and order your ID card online!
Upload a photo of your choice, photographic ID and let us know how you want to collect your ID card.
We have a self-service kiosk in the Library where you can collect your ID card at any time.
Each faculty and every course will have specific information to share in the weeks leading up to classes. Now that you’ve set up your student accounts, you’ll be able to access these across MyUC and your student email.
Make sure you take the time to watch this series of videos to familiarise yourself with where to access timetables, emails, unit teaching sites, library resources and much more.
If you’re making the move to Canberra and haven’t already started browsing accommodation options, now is a good time to start. You can choose from a range of student housing on or near our Bruce campus, or rent a room, apartment or house elsewhere in the greater Canberra area.

Organising Overseas Student Health Cover is an important part of the admissions process, as you must have it in place before applying for a student visa.
If you’ll be studying with us on an international student visa, you’ll need to arrange this before you can start your UC degree. Don’t worry, we can walk you through the process. Don’t forget, you’ll need to have arranged your OSHC before you can apply for your visa.

We’re holding two Welcome Day events in the lead up to semester 1 2026, taking place on 5 December 2025 and 15 January 2026. You’ll receive an invite to register following your official offer to study.
Whether you’re studying online or on campus – and no matter which UC campus you’re enrolled at – O-Week is your chance to connect, explore and get set up for success.
Kicking off on 9 February 2026, it’s the perfect opportunity to meet your faculty and peers, grow your network, socialise, get familiar with your course and have fun so you feel ready to thrive in your studies at UC.
There’ll be an O-Week app released closer to the date where you’ll be able to explore all that’s on offer, build your personalised O-Week timetable, register for your required faculty sessions, and get excited for your journey at UC.

Unit changes
You can change units using the self-enrolment tool until the Friday of Week 1. From Week 2, all units changes must be submitted using the Unit Registration Form.
