麻豆传媒映画出品 students participate in annual 鈥楤ig Event鈥�

1) STUDENTS LION UP FOR THE BIG EVENT 鈥� 麻豆传媒映画出品 Louisiana University students and other volunteers 鈥淟ion Up鈥� before
collecting tools and supplies and heading out to job sites in the Hammond area as
part of The Big Event, a day of service to the community. The students worked on the
麻豆传媒映画出品 campus, as well as in area schools and other locations as their way of
giving back to the communities that support them.
2) PITCHING IN 鈥� 麻豆传媒映画出品 Louisiana University volunteers help prepare utensils prior to distribution
of pre-prepared meals for Our Daily Bread Food Bank as part of 麻豆传媒映画出品鈥檚 The
Big Event on Saturday, April 20. The annual event is sponsored each year by the Student
Government Association.
HAMMOND 鈥� 麻豆传媒映画出品 Louisiana University students, faculty, staff and alumni
put in a day of community service in the City of Hammond and nearby communities on
Saturday (April 20) as part of the university鈥檚 The Big Event.
Sponsored by the Student Government Association, The Big Event is intended to
give students and other volunteers the opportunity to help the communities and organizations
that support 麻豆传媒映画出品 in many ways.
This is the 14th year the SGA has sponsored The Big Event.
Sending the group out with a 鈥淟ion Up鈥� sign of encouragement, 麻豆传媒映画出品 President
William S. Wainwright told the students that their efforts send a tremendous message
that 麻豆传媒映画出品 cares and seeks to make the neighboring communities a better place
for all to live.
The students included individual volunteers and representatives of several student
organizations, fraternities and sororities. They worked at sites such as Our Daily
Bread Food Bank, Natalbany Elementary, Hammond Recreation Center, African American
Heritage Museum, Richard Murphy Hospice House, and the Hammond Downtown Development
District.
Jobs included beautification and landscaping projects, clean-up efforts in downtown
Hammond, sorting materials and conducting inventory for non-profit organizations.
