This unit will introduce students to a broad range of contemporary management theories, skills, and organisational issues. Through contemporary case studies and practical workshops, students will be equipped with the management knowledge and skills applicable to fluid, and often ambiguous, work environments. Students will engage in decision-making, planning, and leadership activities that support them to understand professional management across a diversity of current and future-oriented work contexts.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Apply theories of management to current, and hypothetical, future-oriented management situations;
2. Investigate and analyse the complicating factors in management science;
3. Identify and distinguish advantages and disadvantages in applying management tasks and competencies;
4. Articulate basic management principles in written and oral work; and
5. Reflect on future career development based on the practice of management.

Use of AI is not permitted in this unit
